About NAPBPRO

The National Association of Pro Bono Professionals (NAPBPRO) is an independent organization of pro bono professionals. Created in 1987, NAPBPRO is the only national organization devoted to promoting pro bono services to the poor and the professional development of pro bono managers and professionals and others interested in this field.

We welcome pro bono professionals from all aspects of the legal community to join us. Our members include professionals from law schools, law firms, LSC-funded legal services programs, independent legal aid organizations, bar associations, state-wide access to justice organizations and stand-alone pro bono programs.

HELP US COMPLETE OUR 50 STATE CAMPAIGN!!

If you, or someone you know, is a Pro Bono Pro in one of our blank states (WA, HI, WY, ND, SD, IA, WI, MS, VA), please join today!

MISSION

The mission of NAPBPRO is simple — to serve as a resource and advocate for pro bono professionals across the United States.

Our organization is entirely volunteer-run by members of the community we serve.

Each year NAPBPRO provides engaging and high-level professional development opportunities for our members and the broader pro bono community. We host the Beyond the Basics pre-conference seminar at the annual ABA/NLADA Equal Justice Conference. We sponsor our own virtual conference, providing up-to-date on best practices and the latest developments in pro bono management, particularly for pro bono professionals to are unable to travel to large conferences. We also coordinate seminars on the Web throughout the year on topics of relevance to our members.

We also serve as the voice for pro bono professionals in policy debates relating the pro bono provision of legal services. In the last 18 months, NAPBPRO leadership has testified before the Legal Services Corporation regarding changes to the Federal regulations. NAPBPRO also submitted written comments on these changes and serve on many subcommittees of the LSC's Pro Bono Task Force.

But most importantly, we are a resource for each other. Members provide support and ideas, network, share information and contacts.
