Tanya Neiman Pro Bono Professional of the Year Award
The Tanya Neiman Pro Bono Professional of the Year Award honors the memory of Tanya Neiman, the former director of the Volunteer Legal Services Program of San Francisco.
The award is presented to a Pro Bono Professional who has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to civil pro bono services delivery, given exceptional service and achieved outstanding results. Persons working in the smallest rural program to the largest urban program are equally eligible for this award.

Eligibility
To be eligible for this award, the Nominee:
- Must be a NAPBPRO member for at least one (1) year;
- May not be on NAPBPRO's current Executive Committee; and
- May not be seeking a seat on NAPBPRO's Executive Committee in the immediately upcoming election.
The Nominator does not need to be a NAPBPRO member.

William Reece Smith Jr. Special Services to Pro Bono Award
The William Reece Smith Jr. Special Services to Pro Bono Award is presented to an individual(s) who have made outstanding commitments to and positive impacts on the institutions or systems of providing pro bono legal services. The award was first presented in 1992 with Mr. Smith being the first recipient.
This award is intended to recognize the efforts of those who, on a national, regional or statewide basis, bring about innovations, generate support for, provide assistance to or have other positive influence on the systems or networks of providing pro bono legal services. The award is to honor those who elevate, enhance or make easier the work of the pro bono professionals and volunteer attorneys.
To be eligible for this award, the Nominee:
- May not be on NAPBPRO's current Executive Committee; and
- May not be seeking a seat on NAPBPRO's Executive Committee in the immediately upcoming election.
